
Trident Automation is looking for a Panel Technician to join our team! The Panel Technician is primarily responsible for the on-time assembly and quality of electrical control panels.
Responsibilities
• Safe assembly of electrical control panels. Complete point to point wiring. Installation of a wide variety of electronic and electromechanical components (of a non-repetitive nature). Work from schematics, bills of material, handwritten notes, written and verbal instructions. May have to determine the method and sequence of assembly operations.
• Work with minimal supervision once work assignments are explained and assigned. Ask questions to obtain enough instruction to perform assigned tasks.
• Reads drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams. Use good judgment when dimensions or tolerances seem inconsistent or unworkable. Ask engineers or project managers to clarify. Mark up drawings and bills of material to document the “as built” final product.
• Perform necessary hand operations such as deburring, drilling, and grinding, and sawing. Move material within plant or work area. Keep complete, accurate and organized records.
• Work for the good of the company, accept instruction from lead engineers and project managers.
• Maintain a positive attitude and be a team player.
• Organize and maintain all company tools and assets related to building panels and/or cabinets.
• Collaboration with Engineering team, during hardware engineering phase, reviewing panel drawings (especially layout) and panel parts.
• Collaboration with management team related to assemblies within inventory.
• Management of shop inventory consumables.
• Quality validation of panel builds including power testing of completed panels.
• Follow standard procedures and code pertaining to NEC, CE, UL, and NFPA.
• Shop Shipping and Receiving.

• Uses small hand and power tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, drills, saws, and soldering irons.
• Attention to detail and strong time management skills.
• Analytical skills, ability to work under pressure, decision making & problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication ability.
• Able to establish priorities and manage workload effectively.
• Self-starter who can work either independently or as part of a team.
Education and Qualifications
• High School graduate or equivalent with 3+ years’ experience in control panel building, wiring, reading schematics, and electrical diagrams. Associates degree in engineering technology preferred.
• Highly motivated, detail oriented and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Skilled in establishing priorities and managing workload.
• Mechanical installation and electrical wiring for control panels.
• Experience using hand tools to layout, drill, tap, and assemble electrical panels is a must.
• Excellent customer follow-through skills.
• Flexibility to travel to customer site.
• Must be able to pass background and drug testing.
• Must be a US citizen or be able to work legally in the United States without sponsorship.
