Controls Engineer

Controls Engineers provide process control system design, programming, and configuration to Trident’s customers either remotely or at the customer’s site. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Designs, implements, and tests process control systems, strategies, and H
  • Engineer, design, program, and test, electrical instrumentation and automation systems associated with process industries.
  • PLC/HMI hardware/software design and programming.
  • Provide on-sight commissioning and start-up services.
  • Provide technical support to customers on the phone. Assist customers via remote access capabilities. Works with internal and external customers to solve problems.
  • Provide reports and documentation summarizing work completed.Develops functional requirements, devising project plans.
  • Communicates effectively with all customers, staff and ownership to facilitate job or project status and completion on time and on budget.
  • Directing the preparations and maintenance of requisite reports in order to keep the Ownership abreast of significant issues affecting the development and delivery of programs and services.
  • Maintains customer confidence. Solves problems working alone or in a team environment.
  • Stays current with industry trends/hardware, software, and methods.  This includes informing other team members on changes and problems as it affects products, services and customer expectations.
  • Continued education/staying current with technology/co-develop new products to bring to market.
  • Assists ownership with process improvement activities and initiatives.
  • Work with other integrators/companies to deliver solutions/ integrate their products.

Panel Technician I

The primarily responsibility for the Panel Technician I is assembly of electrical control panels.  Must demonstrate very good electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.  Must be organized and work with minimum of direction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assemble electrical control panels. Complete point to point to point wiring, and install a wide variety of electronic and electro mechanical components (of non-repetitive nature).  Work from schematics, bills of material, hand written notes and written and verbal instructions.  May have to determine the method and sequence of assembly operations.  Uses small hand and power tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, drills and soldering irons. 
  • Work with minimal supervision once work assignments are given and explained. Ask questions to obtain sufficient instruction to perform assigned tasks.
  • Read drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams. Use good judgment when dimensions or tolerances seem inconsistent or unworkable.  Ask engineers or supervisors to clarify.  Mark up drawings and bills of material to document the “as built” final product.
  • Perform necessary hand operations such as deburring, drilling, and grinding, and sawing. Move material within plant or work area.  Keep simple, accurate records.
  • Work for the good of the company, accept instruction from supervisors and lead men. Maintain a positive attitude and be a team player.
  • Organize and maintain all company tools and assets used in the building of panels and/or cabinets.
  • Responsible for general building maintenance when panel work complete or low.

Controls Designer
